Although this piece conveys a sense of simplicity it also contains a degree of yearning. A range of skills is required for the playing of this piece including sophisticated pedalling, balance between the hands, a rich and expressive legato touch and tone-matching.
The title of this piece is wonderfully illustrated with its rippling triplet patterns juxtaposed with spacious chordal patterns culminating in a very satisfying ending.
This could be a challenging piece for some players with its constant changes and unpredictable patterns. Even so, once mastered, it is a rewarding piece to play.
