Postcard promoting an upcoming performance by The Wanderers Musical Costume Comedy Company, at the Theatre Royal. The front of the postcard has a photograph of nine members of the theatrical company in evening dress. The back of the postcard has printed in purple "Theatre Royal, Nelson. Mr George Stephenson has pleasure in announcing the appearance in Nelson on Thursday & Friday, Aug. 10th & 11th, of his new English attraction. A newspaper article advertising the company's tour and published in the Colonist on 9 August 1911, reads, "their programmes being of a distinctly novel character, embracing scenes, sketches, comedies, burlesques, monologues, mandolin and banjo solos and quaint comicalities, while catchy music, exquisite costuming and sumptuous stage appointments will be special features in an entertainment that will appeal not alone to the general theatre goer, but to all classes”.
